Former Texaco Site

Bayonne, Hudson County, NJ

IDA operated as the General Contractor managing all environmental, regulatory, and construction aspects related to this approximately 60-acre site. IDA was responsible for subsurface improvements that included preparing for, and performing, deep dynamic compaction across 37-acres of the site as well as. for the importation (via barge and truck), placement, and compaction of 1.2-million tons of fill material across the site, with weekly site surveys performed by our in-house team.

IDA controlled the placement and compaction of fill material in order to meet the geotechnical specifications required for development. In addition to being designed to improve the site to final development grades, the compacted fill also served as a remedial cap. On this complex industrial property, related responsibilities included drafting submittals and gaining approvals for all fill material including beneficial use of fill material placed on site.
